Introduction

Founded in 1947, under the eminent leadership of Mr. P.C Abraham Pallattukunnel also known as 'kunjettan'  CML or Cherupushpa Mission League is biggest missionary organisation for laity in Asia till the day. The foundation was laid with the intention of promoting the mission spirit and assisting the missionaries through means of prayer, man and money. Inaugurated on 3rd october 1947,at Bharananganam the humble organisation today spreads across various countries like India,USA,UK and gulf countries.

The mission activities in india were stagnant
due to the sudden retrieval of british missionaries to their homeland. Around the same time Mr. P.C Abraham Pallattukunnel decided to do something for the betterment of mission activities in Indian sub continent. He was also inspired by the words of His Holiness Pope Leo XIII "salvation of india is in her sons itself". With the counsel from Rev. Fr. Joseph Malliparambil and blessings of Mar. James Kalassery, bishop of arch diocese of Changanacherry he decided to form an organisation under the name "Cherupushpa Mission League" and Rev. Fr. Joseph Malliparambil to act as the founder director.

With the blessings of heavenly patrons St. Thomas, St. Theresa  of lissuex, St Alphonsa and St. Francis Xavier the organisation spread across all diocese of Kerala within no time. Now, each parish has a unit of cherupushpa mission league under the diocese and state level. Under the motto of "Love,Renunciation,Service and endurance" it has succeeded in developing overall aspects of the christian church and teaching christian values to its members. The candle  lit at Bharanganam has grown into a wild-fire burning for Jesus and produced many passionate missionaries to the christian church.
